in about 6 months, i will get a new computer with windows 7. i currently have vista home premium and i backup my files on a hard drive.
upon installation of windows 7, will i be able to restore the files on my external hard drive that was backed up on my vista laptop to the new windows 7 desktop?

My old xp crashed and I’m wandering how I can transfer my old files from that hard drive to my new Windows 7. Can’t I just plug the hard drive into the motherboard and run it off of their?
